(ST. JOSEPH, Mo.) City and state plow drivers are preparing for another long night as a second round of winter weather approaches the area.
A Winter Storm Warning is in effect from 3 p.m. Monday through 3 p.m. Tuesday for most of the viewing area.
Parts of Northwest Missouri and Northeast Kansas could see between 3-6 inches of snow, starting around midnight.
The latest track of the storm puts the heavier amounts of snowfall south of St. Joseph, with some areas south of Kansas City seeing up to 12 inches of snow. Kansas City's mayor declared a state of emergency for the city Monday, which runs through Wednesday night.
Transportation teams in Missouri and Kansas are already working to prepare for the snowfall.
The City of St. Joseph plans to pre-treat streets Monday evening in anticipation of the snowfall.
The latest round of winter weather comes as some areas are still digging out of the snow left behind during last week's snow storm.
