Edmund F. Codr, 81, St. Joseph, MO

Edmund F. Codr, 81, of St. Joseph, went to be with his Lord, surrounded by his loving family at his home after a lengthy illness Friday, February 8, 2013.
Edmund was born on November 12, 1931 in Hemingford, Nebraska to Frank P. and Mary Margaret (Foltyn) Codr.
In 1951 he joined the U.S. Army. He was with the 969th Engineers Construction Battalion in Salzburg, Austria. He married Lee M. Gibilisco on February 14, 1954 in Omaha, Nebraska. She survives of the home. Additional Surviving family includes daughter, Mary Margaret Codr, St. Joseph; sister, Dorothy Dufek, Hemingford, Nebraska and numerous nieces and nephews.
Edmund was preceded in death by his parents.
In 1990, he retired from Reliable Life Insurance Company after 32 years of service.
Edmund was a member of St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church and was a member of the American Legion. Edmund enjoyed being outside, working in the yard, and landscaping. He loved photography, traveling and spending time with his family.
Memorial Prayer Service 11:00 AM Thursday, February 14, 2013 at Heaton-Bowman-Smith & Sidenfaden Chapel. Inurnment to follow at Mount Olivet Cemetery.
Visitation will begin after 12:00 Noon Wednesday at our chapel, where the family will receive friends from 7:00 to 8:00 PM Wednesday evening.
In lieu of flowers the family suggests memorial contributions to St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church or Hands of Hope Hospice.
