Claude Eugene Grable 73, of DeKalb, MO passed away Tuesday, June 29, 2010 at a hospital in Saint Joseph, MO.
He was born May 27, 1937 in Halls, MO, son of Lillie and Jess Grable. He married Sandra Ballard on November 17, 1958 in DeKalb, MO she preceded him in death in 2006.
He worked at Dugdale Meat Packing for 17 years, and then at the DeKalb High School as Custodian for 17 years. He enjoyed gardening, and spending time with his grandchildren, and was a member of Agency Masonic Lodge A.F. & A. M and he was a Christian.
Claude was preceded in death by his wife Sandra, his parents, and two sisters, Juanita Sailor and Alice Fleming.
Survivors include a daughter, Lisa Twigg and husband Doug of De Kalb, MO, two sons, David Grable and wife Jenny, Scott Grable and wife Tori all of De Kalb, MO, two brothers, Charles Grable of St. Joseph, MO, and Jesse Grable of De Kalb, MO, two sisters, Almeda Lansley of St. Joseph, MO, and Verna Downing of Atchison, KS, nine, grandchildren, and six, great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be conducted on Friday, July 2, 2010 at 10:00 AM, at the Rupp Funeral Home, Rev. Bob Day officiating.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM on Thursday at the Rupp Funeral Home. The Interment will be at the Westlawn Cemetery.
Memorials are requested in lieu of flowers to the DeKalb Christian Church, or a charity of the Donor’s Choice.
