Joseph Jay Taloff, 85, of Weston, MO, passed away Tuesday, June 29, 2010, at Kansas City Hospice & Palliative Care, in Kansas City, MO.
A visitation will be held 6:30 – 8:00 p.m., Thursday, July 1, 2010, at Vaughn Funeral Home, in Weston.
Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m., Friday, July 2, at the United Methodist Church of Weston. Interment with military honors will follow in the Pleasant Ridge Cemetery, in Weston.

Joe was born October 1, 1924, in Chicago, IL to Meyer and Fannie (Fox) Taloff. He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II, and the Korean Conflict. In the past, Joe served as minister, Deacon, and Elder for the United Methodist Church of Weston, and was Chaplain for the V.F.W. Post #4055 of Platte City, MO, Chaplain for the Platte County Sheriff’s Dept., and served as Pastor for at least five other area churches in the past. He also served as Treasurer for the Weston Ministerial Alliance. Joe lived a long and loving life with three wonderful families.
In his earlier years he married Sue and was blessed with three children: Shirley Taloff of Houston, TX, Mary Beth Scherer of Concordia, MO, and Barbara Jean Goodwin of Evansville, IN. Later in life he married Roberta and accepted into his life six additional children: Teresa Mayes of Manhattan, KS, Janet Warner of Weston, MO, Donna Burdette of Dallas, TX, Darrell Warner of Weston, Linda Maiava of Leavenworth, KS and Kim Boeding of Kansas City, MO. In the twilight of his life Joe married Joan and once again with an open heart welcomed five adult children: Jim C. Keogh, III of Olympia, WA, Jill C. Keogh-Long of Lexington, KY, Jeff C. Keogh of Weston, Sister Jania Keogh, O.S.B. of Norfolk, NE, and Julie C. Fuemmeler of Glasgow, MO.
Joe was preceded in death by his parents; and is also survived by: his brother, Paul Taloff of Davis, CA; twenty six grandchildren; and three great grandchildren.
