Melvin R. Shuler, 77, Jamesport, died Monday, June 28, 2010.
He was born November 13, 1932 in Livingston County, MO, the son of Ola Gilbert and Maudie May (Brinser) Shuler.
On October 16, 1955, he married Dorothy Dickinson in Jamesport, MO. She preceded him in death on July 10, 2004.
Melvin was the retired owner with his wife, Dorothy, of Shuler Concrete Products of Jamesport, MO. He served in Korea with the Army.
He also was preceded in death by his parents; a daughter, Sherry Lynn; 4 brothers, Russell, Clarence, Alfred, and Jimmy Dean Shuler; 3 sisters, Virginia Dowell, Lillie Shuler, and Mary Crawford.
Survivors include 3 daughters, Debra Shuler, Chillicothe, MO, Kathy (Steve) May, Jamesport, MO and Teresa Shuler (Brian Barr), Humphreys, MO; grandchildren, Natalie May (Michael Heckenbach), Nicole May (Joey Chadwick), Nina May (J.R. Chadwick), Brad (Brittaney) Neff, Tiffany (Adam) Houk; great-grandchildren, Mason Heckenbach, Brody Neff, Avery May and Mikah Heckenbach; brothers, Gilbert Jr. Shuler, Trenton, MO and Jessie Shuler, Trenton, MO; his companion, Frances Sprinkle, Jamesport, MO.
Funeral Services will be 2:30 p.m. Thursday, July 1, at the United Methodist Church, Jamesport, MO. Burial with military rites in Masonic Cemetery, Jamesport, MO. The family will receive friends from 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. Wednesday at the church where friends may call after 5:00 p.m. Wednesday.
