Marie C. Meade, 90, St. Joseph, MO, passed away Monday, June 14, 2010, at a St. Joseph health care center.
Marie was born in St. Joseph on October 18, 1919, to Erhart and Elizabeth (Crimmins) Barsch. She was a graduate of Central High School
Marie married Owen Meade on October 12, 1940, in St. Joseph. Owen passed away on June 16, 2000. She was also preceded in death by her parents; son, Raymond Meade; one brother and two sisters.
Survivors include daughters, Janice Cox, Karen Smith, St. Joseph, MO and Carol Ann Jeffers, Crystal Lake, IL; son, David Meade, Savannah, MO; eleven grandchildren and thirteen great-grandchildren.
Mass of Christian Burial 10:00 a.m.Thursday at Horigan Chapel. Interment Mt. Olivet Cemetery, St. Joseph, MO.
Visitation will begin after 12:00 noon Wednesday at Heaton-Bowman-Smith & Sidenfaden Chapel, where the family will receive friends 6:00-8:00 p.m. with a Rosary at 6:00 p.m.
The family suggests memorials to St. Mary Food Kitchen or to donor’s choice.
