Louise B. Stevens, 81, passed away June 20, 2010 at the Riverside Nursing & Rehabilitation Center, Riverside, MO.
A gathering of family and friends will be held 6:00 – 8:00 p.m., Wednesday, July 14, 2010, at the Holy Trinity Catholic Church, Parish Hall of Weston, for a memorial. Interment preceded at the Garden Sanctuary Cemetery, in Seminole, Florida.
The family suggests contributions be given to Three Rivers Hospice—P.O. Box 1937—Platte City, MO 64079.
Louise was born in Wilmington, Delaware on April 10, 1929, to Paul F. and Marion (Gerber) Buechse. She married Ralph E. Stevens on October 31, 1971, in Wilmington; later moving to Largo, FL. She moved to Platte City, MO in 1985, then to Springfield, MO, in 1987, and finally, moved to Weston in 1997.
Louise was a member of the Covenant Presbyterian Church of Springfield. She served as President of the Daughters of Rebekah in Wilmington; enjoyed the Platte City Senior Center, and was known as a great cook, who loved to bake.
Louise was preceded in death by: her parents; her husband; one step son, Ralph E. Stevens, Jr.; one daughter, Sharon Barcliff; and two sisters, Marion Fernandez and Polly Perez.
She is survived by: her son, William Vernon (Maureen), of Weston; her step daughters, Mary Ann Haley (Michael), and Delphine E. Smith (Fred, Sr.) all of Wilmington, DE; eleven grandchildren; and numerous great grandchildren.
