Everett C. Eivins, 71, St. Joseph, died Friday, June 25, 2010 at Heartland Regional Medical Center.
Mr. Eivins was born December 1, 1938 in Winterset, IA, the son of Floyd and Ruth (Young) Eivins. He married Carol Wagner on July 1, 1964. She survives of the home.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and sisters, Velma Frantum and Thelma Eivins.
Mr. Eivins was an engineer for Burlington Northern Railroad until his retirement.
He was a member of Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church, Knights of Columbus Council #571, NARVE, where he served as an officer, BLE and UTU unions, and Eagles Lodge.
(Additional Survivors:) sons, Michael Eivins and Jonathan Eivins, (Christine), all of St. Joseph; grandchildren, Marissa, Austin, Caitlin and Joshua; brothers, Marvin Eivins (Lillian), Macksburg, IA, Harvey Eivins, (Marianne), Winterset, IA and Arnold Eivins (Kay), Ceresco, NE; and numerous nieces and nephews.
The Mass of Christian Burial 10:00 A.M. Monday, Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church. Interment Mount Olivet Cemetery.
The Family will receive friends 6:30 to 8:00 P.M. Sunday, Meierhoffer Funeral Home & Crematory, where friends may call after 5:00 P.M. Sunday.
