Roy E. Johnson 88, of St. Joseph, MO

Roy E. Johnson 88, of St. Joseph, Missouri passed away Friday, June 11, 2010 in a Wathena, KS health care center.

He was born October 31, 1921 in Springfield, MO, the oldest child of Oscar and Ellen (Ringgenberg) Johnson.

Upon graduation of Springfield High School in 1938 Roy enlisted in the Army Air Corp until the end of WWII. He spent most of his time at the B24 air base in Liberal KS. There he met and married Evelyn Darst in 1945.

He married Patricia Bollinger and she preceded him in death in December 2003.

He was Salesman for Standard Distributors of Wichita KS for 28 years. He and Patricia retired to Hot Springs Village Arkansas where Roy's love for golf was his greatest enjoyment. He was a member of Elks Lodge, Liberal, KS, American Legion and an Episcopalian.

Roy was preceded in death by his wife’s Evelyn Darst Johnson and Patricia Bollinger Johnson, his parents, a brother, Ben Johnson Jr., three sisters, Mary Ellen Alcorn, Dorothea Mae Johnson, and Eva Lou Denton.

Survivors include a step-son, Robert Bollinger and wife Cyndi of Perryton, TX, two step-grandson, Parker Bollinger and wife Danielle of Lubbock, TX, and their daughter Addisyn Bollinger, a step-grandson, Jeremy Bollinger of Lubbock, TX a sister, Betty Furber of Saint Joseph, MO with whom Roy made his home the last 4 ½ years, and several nieces & nephews.

Mr. Johnsons wishes were to be cremated. There are no scheduled visitation or funeral services at this time.

In Lieu of flowers memorials are requested to the Parkinson foundation or a charity of the Donor’s Choice.
