Harrison L. ‘Harry’ Baker, 66, Atchison, passed away, Thursday, June 10, 2010 at the Heartland Regional Medical Center following a lengthy illness.
Graveside services will be 2:00 PM Sunday, June 13 at the Mt. Vernon Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the Becker-Dyer-Stanton Funeral Home.
Memorials in honor of Mr. Baker are suggested to the Atchison Humane Society or the Atchison Achievement Services and may be left in care of the funeral home.

Harrison was born September 19, 1943 in Smithville, MO, the son of Virgil H. and Birdie (Everling) Baker. He attended Float Grade School and graduated from ACCHS in 1962. Harry went to work as a truck driver for We-Mac Manufacturing and then became an Operation Technician for the Lake City Army Ammunition Plant, Independence, MO in 1982, retiring in 2005. He loved dogs and was quite the outdoorsman. Harry enjoyed hunting, fishing, watching NASCAR racing, football and baseball. Harry married Donna Jansen on October 12, 1969. They later divorced.
Survivors include daughters, Tracie Baker, Atchison, KS; Amy Baker, Overland Park, KS; brother, Ronald and his wife JoAnne Baker, Atchison, KS; sister, Janice and her husband, Gary Carson, Independence, MO; 4 nephews, 4 great-nephews and 5 great-nieces.
Harry was preceded in death by his parents and a great niece.
