Wanda Bowers 70, of Saint Joseph, MO passed away Thursday, June 10, 2010 at her home in Saint Joseph, MO while under the care of her five sons and hospice.
She was born June 20, 1939 in St. Joseph, MO, daughter of Rev. Samuel I. & Lovie Sowell.
She was the owner and operator of Granny's Attic, she had also retired from Colonial Bakery. She enjoyed playing the piano, accordion, and bingo. She was loving mother, and grandmother, and will be missed very much by her family and friends. She was a Christian.
Wanda was preceded in death by husband, Kenneth Max Bowers, six brothers, J.W., Bud, Don, Paul, Gene, and Phil Sowell.
Survivors include five sons, Marty Bowers and wife Linda of Kansas City, MO, Jimmy Bowers and wife Connie of St. Joseph, Dwayne Bowers and wife Tina of Elwood, KS, Phillip Bowers and Kenny Bowers and wife Charlee of Saint Joseph, MO, 16 Grandchildren and 4 Great Grandchildren.
Funeral services will be conducted on Monday, June 14, 2010 at 10:30 AM, at the Lathrop Assembly of God Church, Rev. Sam Phillips officiating.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM on Sunday at the Rupp Funeral Home.
The Interment will be at the Lathrop Cemetery Memorials are requested to a charity of the donor’s choice.
