(HAYS, Kan.) Missouri Western may have locked up an MIAA Tournament berth, but will hit the postseason in the midst of a rocky stretch.

The Griffons dropped their fifth game of their last six outings in a 73-56 defeat at No. 17 Fort Hays State Wednesday. They've gone 2-8 in their last 10 games dating back to Jan. 10th.

After a back-and-forth start, the Tigers (19-6, 11-6) used a strong finish to the first half to grab a 39-24 lead heading into the locker room. Western (14-11, 7-10) hit 10 field goals and went 1-10 from beyond the arc in the first half while connecting on 3-15 three pointers for the game.

Three Griffons finished in double figures with JaQuitta Dever leading all scorers with 14 points.

Western wraps up regular season play Saturday when they return to St. Joseph to host Southwest Baptist.
