9 Griffs and Bearcats Make All-Region 1st Team

By: Matthew Tritten
Updated: November 29, 2012

(KANSAS CITY, Mo.) The MIAA was well-represented on the Daktronics All-Super Region 3 Football team.

Fourteen of the 25 first teamers came from the conference, and 9 of them were either a Griffon or Bearcat.

Missouri Western's Michael Hill, currently the nation's second highest rusher this season, made the cut for the all-region first team, as well as a pair of his blockers, Macon Allan and Colt Schulte.

On the defensive side of the ball, Gene Upshaw Award Finalist, David Bass, made the squad. Bass is leading Missouri Western with 10.5 sacks this season.

For Northwest, kicker Todd Adolf and lineman Rod Williams made the cut for the all-region first team offense.

Adolf was 13-15 on field goals this season, and Williams anchored an offensive line that scored the second most points per game in the MIAA at 42.

The Bearcats had three representatives on the first team defense.

Cornerback Brandon Dixon, safety Nate DeJong, and linebacker Collin DeBuysere helped Northwest become the best pass defense in the conference.

The full all-region team is listed below.
