Kansas Earns No. 1 Seed, Paired with Western Kentucky

(LAWRENCE, Kan.) The Kansas Jayhawks earned the top seed in the South Region of the 2013 NCAA Tournament and will play their opening round Friday in Kansas City.

Kansas will face the 16th-seeded Hilltoppers of Western Kentucky. The seventh-ranked Jayhawks sport a 29-5 record after knocking off co-conference champion Kansas State to win the Big 12 Tournament.

Western Kentucky is the Sun Belt Tournament Champion, making their second straight NCAA Tournament trip with a 20-15 record.
