(ST. JOSEPH, Mo.) After dropping three straight games and seven of their last eight, the Griffons had been on the bubble of the MIAA Tournament for a while.

That changed Saturday as Missouri Western got back to their winning ways with a 71-36 victory over Nebraska-Kearney. It marks the Griffons' (14-10, 7-9) first victory of February as they've now secured a spot in the conference tournament.

Four players finished in double figures as Sharniece Lewis, Heather Howard, and JaQuitta Dever all tied for the team lead with 12 points. Denise White added 10.

Westen has two games left on the regular season slate, the first being their last road contest at Fort Hays State on Wednesday.
