(MARYVILLE, Mo.) The Northwest women fed off one of the most raucous Bearcat Arena crowds of the season Wednesday.

The Bearcats exacted revenge for an earlier loss to Missouri Western with a 69-58 win in front of over 2,000 fans.

An foul-ridden first half saw Northwest (12-12, 6-10) in the double bonus with just 10 minutes gone. They took advantage by connecting on 28 of 32 attempts from the free throw line.

Down four at the midway point, Western (13-10, 6-9) used a 6-0 run early in the second half to take their first lead since the opening minutes. Northwest then used the final 17 minutes to widen the gap, forcing 29 turnovers along the way.

Annie Mathews recorded her seventh double-double of the season with 12 rebounds and a career-high 21 points.

Lanicia Lawrence and Sharniece Leiws led the Griffons with 13 points apiece.

Northwest plays their final road game next Wednesday at Nebraska-Kearney, while Western hosts the Lopers on Saturday.
