(JEFFERSON CITY, Mo.) It took some late heroics, but the Griffons were able to undo one of the toughest stretches of this season Saturday.
Dzenan Mrkaljevic knocked down a jumper with 1.4 seconds left to lift Missouri Western to a permanent 61-59 advantage over Lincoln University.
The win snaps a three-game skid for the Griffons (8-10, 4-6).
Mrkaljevic had a memorable day, notching a career-high 17 points to match the team lead. Adarius Fulton also picked up 17. As a team, Missouri Western shot 40 percent from the floor.
The Blue Tigers (3-17, 2-8) had time to launch a prayer before time expired, but left it short.
Missouri Western returns to the MWSU Fieldhouse Wednesday to host Pittsburg State.
