Hill and the Griffs Run Over Washburn

(ST. JOSEPH, Mo.) The Missouri Western seniors made sure their final regular season game at Spratt Stadium was a memorable one.
Michael Hill rushed for a career best 259 yards and 3 touchdowns on 26 carries as the Griffons (9-1) beat the Washburn Ichabods 56-28 Saturday.
It marks the Griffons 6th season since 2005 with 9 wins.
The defense got things rolling when Nick Williams intercepted Washburn's Mitch Buler on the Ichabods second drive.
Travis Partridge turned it into points on the ensuing possession with a 5 yard carry for the first touchdown of the day.
Partridge scored through the air the next time Western got the ball on a 45 yard pass to Tyron Crockum.
The next two touchdowns belonged to Hill, one from 36 yards and one from 3, giving Western a commanding 28-0 lead.
The former Central running back is up to 1,688 rushing yards, the second most in the nation, and has more regular season rushing yards than any back in Griffon history.
The Griffons are now set for a makeshift MIAA Championship game Saturday in Maryville.
The winner between Missouri Western and Northwest will take the conference title outright.
