Missouri State Pulls Away from Missouri Western

(SPRINGFIELD, Mo.) Missouri Western men's basketball fell 81-67 in its first exhibition game to Division I foe Missouri State Tuesday night.

Junior transfer Adarius Fulton led the Griffons in scoring with 22 points.

Missouri Western fought hard with Missouri State, and hung with the Bears for much of the first half.

The two teams were tied 27-27 with 5:16 to play in the opening half, but Missouri State was able to open up a 15-point halftime lead.

The Griffons were led in rebounds by Alex Tuluka-Mfumupembe and Dzenan Mrkaljevic with 7 apiece. Each player also scored 8 points.

Western's final exhibition game comes on Friday against Livin the Dream at the MWSU Fieldhouse.

The regular season begins November 13th against Sterling College.
