"A Rural Way of Life" Exhibit Needs Your Help

A Midland Empire museum says history can be fun but it needs your help. The Andrew County Museum`s newest exhibits will demonstrate the history of northwest missouri`s rural farm and town life dating back to the 1850`s. To complete the exhibits, the museum needs items found around the kitchen and farm from the 1850s, 1900s, 1950s and even up to 2000. The museum plans to showcase how the farming business has evolved through the centuries. Museum director and curator Patrick Clark said, "We have a wonderful canning set that was donated, but we need pictures of the farm wives or the farm family canning in the kitchen, a farmer or a farm wife working on account books and maybe the computer, or maybe even something as simple as a farmer or a farm wife talking on the telephone." The museum needs several other farm life items including; coveralls for teenagers, work hats, chicken crates, kitchen clocks, table settings, milking, fertilizing photos.
