A former St. Joseph nurse fesses up to ripping off prescription drugs while on the job. Forty-nine-year-old Patricia Cooksey is charged with stealing the narcotic painkiller Loritab from Heartland Regional Medical Center. Cooksey admitted today to stealing up to six pills each shift for about a year. Cooksey said she used fake names and documentation to steal the pills. Under a plea agreement, Cooksey will spend four years in drug court. She may also have to pay Heartland for the stolen pills.
