breaking news
One good deed goes a long way...that`s what local business owners learn.
Frank and Brenda Laffargue of Quality Auto Repair were faced with a single-mother in need...so they extended their helping hands.
Times get tough for single mother of two Sheila Flanagin.
"When you have two kids, you need to got to the grocery store...pay your bills...kid your kids back and forth to different things..doctors appointments," says Sheila.
So when it came down to a broken down car, Sheila had no where to turn. Her son`s school counselor, Natalie Adkins at Bode Middle School stepped in.
"The mom had explained to me she had a car and the car wasnt running. We talked about places she could go and get an estimated," Natalie said.
Sheila came across Quality Auto...who gave her a free estimate, but a big bill over for over one-thousand dollars.
"So here we are with a $1500 bill and Sheila said I cant pay that. So I called around to different groups and I met with the Unmet Needs Commitee and they`re weren`t able to give us any assistance.
That`s when Quality Auto made her an offer she couldnt refuse. They fixed her car free of charge.
The gift kept on giving...even school counselor Natalie was touched. It`s a story that still brings Adkins to tears.
But for all, this one deed..for a person in need was...what Sheila calls...
"A blessing to say the least"
