St. Joseph City Council member Bill Falkner attended April`s museums` board meeting speaking on behalf of the city, saying the city is prepared to take over ownership and management of the Wyeth-Tootle Mansion. Mayor Ken Shearin says it`s fine with him if Meloni wants to further his career or is looking for change, but shearin wants some answers before meloni leaves. "I am hoping someone has the wherewithal to confirm the whereabouts of all those artifacts that nobody has seen yet, and I would suggest very strongly that before he leaves town, that he at least help put that issue to rest," Mayor Shearin says. Mayor Shearin says his biggest concern is over who owns the Wyeth-Tootle Mansion. he says the city`s legal department is investigating as well.
