breaking news
Just east of St. Joseph, past the intersection of Cook and W highway in Buchanan County, the collision of a sport utility vehice and a mid-sized car sounded, to neighbors, like the explosion of a house.
Smoke form the burning S-U-V could be seen for miles. A pungent, pitch black cloud that marked the spot of two deaths. Highway patrol troopers asked us to step away from what they called a crime scene, but gave no reason why they suspected more to the accident. Deputies from both Andrew and Buchanan County were on hand in addition to the Missouri Highway Patrol for the aftermath of the firey collision.
One of the two survivors is an unidentified white male, who was arrested and transported to Heartland Regional Medical Center. He and a female passenger escaped the charged sport utility vehicle that look like a crushed mini van once San Antonio firefighters put out the flames.
