Frances was born on June 25, 1937 in Helena, Missouri to Harold and Mable (Chambers) Walker. She graduated from Union Star High School and completed 2 years of college.
She married John E. Gleaves on August 16, 1959. He survives of the home.
She worked at Frederick Boulevard Baptist Day Care and at Little Angels Daycare.
Frances was preceded in death by her parents, infant daughter, Karen Marie, infant son, and brother, Glenn Walker.
Additional surviving family includes son, Roger (Tammy) Gleaves, grandson, Matthew Gleaves, all of St. Joseph; brothers, Lloyd (Linda) Walker, of Maysville, Missouri; Robert (Janice) Walker, Jefferson City, Missouri; sister, Alice (David) Bonnett, of St. Joseph; sister-in-law, Crystal Heinrichs, Easton, Missouri; and numerous nieces and nephews.
The family would like to thank the nurses and staff at Saxton's Riverside Care Center and a special thank you to the staff on "the150 Hall" and Kendallwood Hospice.
Services 11:00 AM Friday, March 22, 2013 at Heaton Bowman Smith & Sidenfaden Chapel.
Interment Mount Auburn Cemetery.
Visitation will begin after 11:00 AM Thursday at our chapel, where the family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 PM Thursday evening.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions to the Alzheimer's Foundation.
