Clara Gene (Miller) Landess 82, Gravois Mills, Missouri passed from this life on Friday, March 15, 2013, in Fort Lauderdale, Florida.
She was born June 16, 1930, in St. Joseph, Missouri to Eugene Wade and Clara Marion (Clark) Miller. She married Burl (Poodle) Landess on July 31, 1953 in Savannah, Missouri. Clara Gene graduated from Savannah High School in 1948 and later from Lindenwood University in 1952 and enjoyed working in numerous places through her life. She was a member of the United Methodist Church in Savannah and the Ozark Methodist Church in Laurie, Missouri. Clara Gene was a member of the Rotary and The Elks Lodge at the Lake of the Ozarks. She enjoyed life to the fullest especially playing cards and travelling with her family and her friends.
Clara Gene was preceded in death by her parents; husband; son, Brian Kirk Landess; brother, Eugene Wade Miller; and sister, Ann Whitney Rowan. Survivors: son, Clark Anthony Landess, Laurie, Missouri; nieces, Jeffann (Bob) Bullock, Debbie (Bob) Thorburn; nephews, Wade Rowan, Tim (Darla) and Bret Miller; cousins Lin Werner and Christine O'Neil.
Memorial Celebration of Life: 11:30 AM Monday, March 25, 2013, at Breit-Hawkins and Gladden Funeral Home, Savannah, Missouri, officiated by Reverend Cindy Buhman, Savannah United Methodist Church. Public visitation and family receiving hours will be 10 to 11:30 AM Monday at the Funeral Home. An additional Celebration of Life will be officiated by Pastor Rick Waite1:00 PM Wednesday, March 27, 2013 at Ozark Methodist Church, Laurie Missouri.Memorials are suggested to Savannah Methodist Church, Savannah Missouri, or the Ozark Methodist Church, and the Rotary, Laurie Missouri.
