Edward was born on September 18, 1924 in Pittsburg, Kansas to James and Tamar (Heatherington) Manion.
He married Bernice Baron on April 18, 1945 in Key West, Florida. She survives of the home.
Edward served in the U.S. Navy during World War II and later worked as District Manager for the Gas Service Company in St. Joseph, Missouri. He was also a member of the Masons, Charity -Zeredatha Lodge #189, and past member of the Rotary Club and Optimist Club.
He was preceded in death by his parents, infant daughter, Sharon K. Manion, 2 brothers and 4 sisters.
Additional surviving family includes sons, Edward Manion, Jr., of Dearborn, Missouri; Richard Manion, Meridan, Kansas; daughter, Laura Coker, Smithville, Missouri; 11 grandchildren, 3 great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
Graveside services 2:00 PM Friday, March 22, 2013at Mount Olive Cemetery in Pittsburg, Kansas under the direction of Heaton-Bowman-Smith & Sidenfaden Chapel.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions to Comfort of Home Health Care, 624 Edmond, St. Joseph, MO 64501 or Kendallwood Hospice, 443 South Belt Hwy, St. Joseph, MO 64506.
