He was born October 23, 1921 to Everett and Reva Dolly (Campbell) Waggoner in Dairyland, Wisconsin.
He married Marion Francis Kantz in 1941. She survives of the home.
Dr. Waggoner served in the Medical Corps, was in Officer Candidate School at the Chemical Warfare Center and United States Army Air Corps, during World War II. He served in the European Theatre and flew 71 missions over Italy, Germany and the Baltic's. He also served time on a Court Martial Board. Sharon finished as a major after active duty and rose to the rank of Lt. Col. in the Army Air Corps until 1969.
He graduated from Loma Linda University School of Medicine and began his career as a general practitioner and surgeon in 1951 in the south end of St. Joseph retiring in 1998.
Sharon was a member of Seventh-day Adventist Church where he served as an Elder, Southside Rotary Club, Friday Morning Breakfast Club, Buchanan County Medical Association, Buchanan County Health Department as a Health Officer, Ensworth Society, American Medical Association, American Academy of General Practitioners, Missouri State Medical Association and various boards between Methodist Medical Center, Sisters Hospital and Heartland Regional Medical Center.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and sister, Norma Wright.
Survivors: his wife, Marion Waggoner; daughter, Marcella E. Hassen (Harlan L., DDS), Liberty, Missouri; son, John Kenneth Waggoner (Laura), Kansas City, Missouri; grandchildren, Laura Elizabeth and Katherine Lynette Hassen, and Christina Marie Waggoner; and brother, Lee Waggoner (Gladys), Duluth, Minnesota.
Memorial Service: 1:00 P.M. Wednesday, Meierhoffer Funeral Home & Crematory. Inurnment Memorial Park Cemetery. The family will receive friends 5:00 to 8:00 P.M. Tuesday, Meierhoffer Funeral Home & Crematory where friends may call after 4:00 P.M. Tuesday.
