John was born on January 5, 1944 in Winston, Missouri to Eugene Lewis and Enna Onita (West) Loyd. John married his 1st wife, Norma Terry in 1969, she died in 1993. He then married LaRae Gerratt in 1994.
He was preceded in death by his parents; 1st wife, Norma; sister, Donna, step-sister, Judy and his dog, Brindle of 17 years.
John was a 1962 graduate of Winston High School. He was a life member of the Winston Baptist Church. He worked heavy construction for Clarkson Construction. John retired after 25 years with MODOT as a Road Maintenance Worker, and then drove a bus for Winston School for 12 years.
John loved junk, garage sales, welding, and building yard ornaments.
He also did glass and screen repair.
Survivors: wife, LaRae Loyd, of the home; 2 sons, Mike (Mindy) Loyd,Cameron, Steven (Deanna) Clausen, Camdenton, MO; 3 daughters, Sarah (Jay) Ragan, Winston, MO, Belinda (Bob) Peoples, Trenton, MO, Stacy (Bill) Pettit, Altamont, MO; 9 grandchildren, Brandon, Ashlee, Michael, Darryen, Kaden, Jonas, Stacie, Leanna and Brian; 8 great-grandchildren.
Services: 11:00 AM, Monday, March 11, 2013 at Poland-Thompson Funeral Home, Cameron. Visitation: 6-8:00 PM, Sunday evening at the funeral home. Memorial Donations: American Heart and Lung Association.
