Irene V. Staten, 86, of Ravenwood, MO, passed away Wednesday, March 6, 2013, at a nursing home in Maryville, MO.
Irene was born in Pickering, MO, on February 21, 1927, and graduated from the Pickering High School.
Her parents were Isaac A. and Ethel K (Sharr) Treese, they preceded her in death. She was also preceded by her sister, Verna Collins, and 3 brothers, Irvin, Bernard, and Donald Treese.
On September 17, 1945, in Troy, KS, Irene was united in marriage to Eldon Williams Staten. He passed away on June 6, 2001. They lived most all their married life in the Ravenwood area, and Irene was a homemaker. She attended the West Union Primitive Baptist Church, Maryville, MO.
Her survivors include her children, Donna J. (Rolland) Walker, Maryville, MO; Gary E. (Cynthia D.) Staten, Ravenwood, MO; and Cindy L. (James K.) Welch, Ravenwood, MO; 2 sisters, Reva Newberry, Iva M. Thompson, and brother, Gene Treese, all of Maryville, MO; 12 grandchildren, Carla J. (Phillip) Rickabaugh, Maryville, MO, Ritchie R. (Julie) Walker, Milford, NE, Connie J. (Matt) Meek, Kearney, MO, Mark D. (Lori D.) Staten, Tarkio, MO, Mende D. (Tim) Kemper, Hawk Point, MO, Chanda Leah (Jeff D.) Case, LaPlata, MO, Christi L. (Julie Olson) Farnan, Kansas City, MO, Shelly J. (Jennifer Moore) Farnan, Springfield, MO, Cassie M. (Daryl) Wilmes, Camdenton, MO, Joshua Welch, Charlotte, NC, Nicole (Brett) Swope, St. Joseph, MO, and Brian (Kara) Welch, Beaver Creek, OH; 17 great grandchild; 2 great-great grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be at 10:30 AM, Saturday, March 9, 2013, at the Bram-Danfelt Funeral Home, Maryville, MO. The burial will be in the Oak Lawn Cemetery, Ravenwood, MO.
The family will receive friends for one hour prior to services on Saturday at the funeral home.
Memorials are suggested to the West Union Primitive Baptist Church, or to SSM Hospice of NW Missouri, both of Maryville, and can be left at the funeral home.
