(COLUMBIA, Mo.) West Platte had made the Show-Me Showdown before in the 16-year tenure of head coach Zane Tanner.
This year, the Blue Jays entered Columbia and the Class 2 semifinals as the top team in the state with an unblemished 29-0 record.
They kept that mark in tact Thursday, defeating Iberia 57-48 to advance to the Class 2 State Championship game.
Leading-scorer Adam Roe finished with a team-high 20 points and 14 rebounds, but exited the game in the fourth quarter after landing awkwardly on his leg. Roe did not return to the game, but said afterwards he would be examined Friday in Columbia.
Bryce Cashman and Cody Guthrie also finished in double figures with 11 points apiece.
The Blue Jays will face Salisbury at 3:10 p.m. on Saturday in the Class 2 title game.
