Margaret "Peggy" Ann Compton, 83, Cameron, MO

Peggy was born January 9, 1930 to Raymond O. and Ruth (Owen) Joslyn. She was a 1947 graduate of Southwest High School, Kansas City, MO. Peggy received her Bachelor of Science in Child Development in 1951 from Iowa State University, Ames, Iowa.
On August 9, 1952, Peggy married Dr. Robert H. Compton in Kansas City, Missouri. He preceded her in death on May 8, 2012. She was also preceded in death by her parents. Peggy and Bob moved to Cameron in 1956 to join his father, Dr. C.S. Compton in medical practice.
Peggy was a member of the Cameron United Methodist Church, the chancel choir and bell choir, and a Sunday school teacher. She was a member of Delta Omicron of Kappa Kappa Gamma at Iowa State University. In 1950, she was initiated into Chapter EG, P.E.O. in Kansas City and remained a member of Chapter BK, P.E.O., Cameron. She was a 53-year member of Beta Sigma Phi, Laureate Gamma Beta chapter. She served as an ambassador at Cameron Regional Medical Center, Girl Scout Leader Troop 123, first grade teacher's assistant at Parkview Elementary School.
She loved the lake cabin in Minnesota, her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Survivors: Three daughters, Carol Busch and husband, Wayne, Clarks Grove, MN; Lynn Willits and husband, Don, Chesterfield, MO; Ann Lenigan and husband Joe, Clovis, CA; four grandchildren, Joel Busch and wife, Kari, Ellendale, MN; Staci Busch, Albert Lea, MN; Emma Lenigan and fiance', Micah Fisher and Patrick Lenigan, Clovis, CA; two great-grandsons, Cole and Ross Lenort, Ellendale, MN; brother, Richard Joslyn and wife, Annette, Overland Park, KS; brother-in-law, Rex Reed, Johns Island, SC; nieces and nephews, Catherine Joslyn, Susan Joslyn, Lucinda Sexton and Robert Joslyn; Julie Reed Kinney, Nancy Reed McGrath, Linda Reed Hough.
Services: 11:00 AM, Friday, March 8, 2013 at the Cameron United Methodist Church. Visitation: 10:00 - 11:00 AM, prior to the service. Burial: Graceland Cemetery, Cameron. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Cameron Regional Medical Center Foundation, Cameron Community Building and/or P.E.O. International Peace Scholarship Fund.
