Lora Ann Libel, 44, Leona, KS

Lora Ann Libel, 44, of rural Leona, KS, died Monday morning, March 4, 2013 at Stormont-Vail hospital in Topeka, KS of complications stemming from illness.
Lora was born in Carrolton, MO, September 7, 1968. Lora attended school at Bosworth, MO where she graduated in 1986. Lora enlisted in the Missouri Air National Guard at age 17 where she served as a mobility technician before retiring at the rank of Technical Sergeant with over 20 years of service. She deployed for numerous times and to many locations to include Operation Coronet Oak, Operation Joint Forge, and Operation Southern Watch. After her retirement from the Air Force, Lora started her own business, Lora's Latte in Highland, KS, truly enjoying her interaction with the local community. Most recently Lora enjoyed her time serving others as a CNA at the Highland Healthcare Center. Lora's greatest pleasure and accomplishment are her four children Brandon, Dillan, Jacob, and Naomi.
Lora married Danny Libel on 22 July 1998 in St. Joseph, MO. The family made their home in rural Leona, KS where they raised their four wonderful children and embedded themselves in the surrounding community. Survivors include husband Danny, three sons; Brandon, Dillan, and Jacob; and one daughter, Naomi; Father Marvin E. Brockert; Mother Glenda Elliot and step father, John McWilliams; three brothers, Kevin Brockert, John McWilliams, and Derick Warner as well as two sisters, Lisa Brand and Mechelle Thompson.
A Celebration of Lora's life is planned for 10 a.m. Friday, March 8, at Trinity United Methodist Church of Hiawatha, with Reverend Priscilla Davies officiating. Interment with military honors will follow at Highland Cemetery.
Friends may call at Chapel Oaks Funeral Home in Highland after 10 a.m. Thursday where the family will meet from 6 until 8 that evening.
