Mrs. Palmes was born in Clarinda, Iowa to the late Robert and Myrtle Cabeen. She later moved to St. Joseph with her family.
Doris was a member of Wyatt Park Baptist Church. She enjoyed her career as a hairdresser and was an accomplished China Painter.
She was preceded in death by her parents; and a brother, Lee Allen Cabeen.
Survivors: daughters, Jackie Frakes and Donna (Brennan)Matthews (Don); grandsons, Mark Matthews (Stacy) and Brent Matthews (Teri); six great-grandchildren, Olivia Matthews, Harrison Matthews, Hayden Matthews, Emily Hinssan Matthews, Lynden Matthews, and Brennan Matthews.
Services: 10:00 A.M. Monday, Meierhoffer Funeral Home & Crematory. Interment Memorial Park Cemetery. The family will receive friends 12 Noon to 2:00 P.M. Sunday, Meierhoffer Funeral Home & Crematory, where friends may call after 11:00 A.M. Sunday. Memorials can be made to Wyatt Park Baptist Church. The family would like to thank Hands of Hope Hospice for their wonderful care.
