Catherine (Fahey) Studer, 95, Wathena, KS

Catherine was born on January 28, 1918 in Troy, Kansas to Tom and Jennie (Goss) Taylor Fahey. She graduated from Troy High School in 1936 where she was an outstanding basketball player. She was a lifelong resident of Doniphan County. Catherine cooked at Hardy's, Reilingerman and the Blair School.
She was a member of the St. Joseph Catholic Church and St. Ann's Altar Society of the church in Wathena.
Catherine married Pete Studer, Jr. on June 25, 1940 in Wathena, where they farmed and raised their family. He preceded her in death. She was also preceded by her parents, step-father, Richard Taylor and a sister, Mary Engeman. Catherine was an amazing caring mother & grandmother, a great cook & loved to have her family gather on Sunday for ice cream & peach cobbler.
Survivors include daughters; Marilyn Perry of St. Joseph, Missouri Cathy Coy (Vernie) of Wathena Janice Studer of St. Joseph, Missouri sons; John, Gerald, Larry, Tony (Shelley) all of Wathena Bob (Wendy) Studer of St. Joseph, Missouri 11 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren 3 step-grandsons & 2 step-great-grandchildren nieces and nephews
