Harold V. Collins, 94, St. Joseph, MO

Harold was born on December 22, 1918, to Philip and Blanche (Mulock) Collins in Worth County, near Parnell, MO. He graduated from Hopkins, Missouri High School in 1936.
Harold married Arlene Finn in Lee's Summit, Missouri on December 23, 1939. They came to St. Joseph in 1942. He spent 30 years in the trucking business, moving to Independence, MO in 1958, where he was a contract carrier for Old American Roofing Mills.
Harold and Arlene returned to St. Joseph in 1965 where he worked as a salesman for St. Joseph Builders Supply and The Rounds and Carter Company, retiring in 1986.
Harold was a member of the Clair United Methodist Church and the Fraternal Order of Eagles.
Mr. Collins was preceded in death by his wife, on August 7, 1986; parents and 4 siblings, Nellie Engle, Bernie Blair, Doug and Joe Moore.
Survivors include, a daugther, Carla Ryan; grandson, Collin Ryan; 2 great-granddaughters, Allison and Casey Ryan; all of St. Joseph, MO; 3 sisters, Orva Davis and Bonnie Moore, of Arkansas and Dorothy Coleman, North Carolina.
Services 11:00 AM Saturday at Heaton-Bowman-Smith & Sidenfaden Chapel. Interment Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be held after 9:00 AM Friday at our Chapel, where the family will receive friends 6:00 to 9:00 PM Friday.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Kendallwood Hospice or the Humane Society of St. Joseph.
