(ST. JOSEPH, Mo.) A broken gas line has caused a temporary closure at the St. Joseph REC Center.

The gas line broke on the roof Wednesday morning due to heavy snow.

Missouri Gas Energy responded and gas was turned off to the building. Repairs are being made before the building re-opens.

The city ensured that the center will not re-open before either MGE or the fire department has inspected the building with detectors.
