Joseph L. Tinella, 88, passed away Thursday, February 21, 2013, at Heartland Regional Medical Center. He recently moved to St. Joseph from his retirement home in Margate, Florida.
Joseph was born in Bristol, Connecticut on October 8, 1924, to Peter and Philomena (Masi) Tinella. He served in the Army during WW II. He was a member of American Legion Post 157, Margate, Florida; St. Vincent Catholic Church; the Margate Elks and International Association of Machinists/Aero Space Workers.
Joseph retired from Pratt & Whitney Aircraft, in Southington, Connecticut.
He married Agnes Marie Aliano on April 27, 1946 in Bristol, CT. She passed away on May 20, 2010. He was also preceded in death by his parents; sister, Eva Klaczany and brother, Dominic Tinella.
Joseph is survived by his daughter, Donna Turk (Duane), St. Joseph, MO; son, Peter (Betty) Tinella, Highgate Center, VT; daughter, Cynthia Cicchetti (Alan), West Hartford, CT; five grandchildren, Michele Thomason, Jennifer Martin, Gina Carlson, Angela Larue and Katherine Cicchetti; six great-grandchildren; and sisters, Roccina Breski and Mary Daniels, both of Bristol, CT.
Mass of Christian Burial 10:00 a.m. Monday, February 25, 2013 at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church.
Private Interment Leavenworth National Cemetery, Leavenworth, Kansas under the direction of Heaton-Bowman-Smith & Sidenfaden Chapel. There will be no visitation.
