(AUSTIN, Texas) Kansas State kept their rarified conference title hopes alive Saturday with another strong performance.

The No. 13 Wildcats led for nearly the entire night in a 81-69 victory over Texas. They remain in a tie for first place in the Big 12 with No. 9 Kansas.

Kansas State (22-5, 11-3) responded well in the face of the Longhorns' (12-15, 4-10) top-ranked three-point defense by shooting 50 percent on nine makes from beyond the arc. A trio of those came from Shane Southwell, who was one of four Wildcats in double figures.

Rodney McGruder led the way with 20 points to go with eight points and a pair of steals. Angel Rodriguez added 16 points and six assists.
