Anna Caroline (Keck) Tonnies, 89, Maryville, MO

After WW II, Henderson went into business with Frank Culp in Skidmore, Missouri. The family moved to Maryville in 1945 and soon joined the First Baptist Church. Tolly was active in the church for many years of her life. She served as a Sunday school and Bible school teacher and was member of the adult Sunday school group. She was the church treasurer for a number of years and acted in that capacity for the Laura Street Baptist Church when it was established. She was member of Eastern Star, The Mutual Improvement Circle, Soroptomists and was a Cub Scout leader. She developed friendships with neighbors and many people throughout the community.
Tolly worked as a bookkeeper for Culp Construction, J.C. Penney, Sears, Rush Printing and also worked as a Secretary for the Missouri National Guard.
She is survived by three children, Robert Henderson (Dana) Tonnies Jr., Charles Marshall (Nora) Tonnies and Anna Carolyn Tonnies; four grandchildren, Eric Henderson (Renee) Tonnies, Andrew Marshall and Ian David Tonnies and Jessica Lea (Josh Neff) Tonnies; three step grandchildren, Dwayne Joseph (Shally) Luzum, Dale John (Tamra) Luzum and Amanda Joy (Shawn) Barney; four great grandchildren and 11 step great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by husband, parents, brother and sister, Charles Leslie Keck and Mary Ester Ahrens, grandson Mac Garrett Tonnies and nephew Daniel Tilden Ahrens.
Tolly wished people to know "the greatest achievement and most important job she ever had was being a good loving mother."
Memorial service will be held Monday, February 25, at 10:30 at Price Funeral Home, 120 East First Street, Maryville, Missouri. Memorials to First Baptist Church, Maryville, Missouri.
