Garland V. Lewis, 91, St. Joseph, Missouri died Sunday, February 17, 2013 at a local healthcare facility.
He was born July 27, 1921 to Marvin and Basha Lewis in Van Tassel, Wyoming.
Garland married Helen L. Fryar on February 6, 1942. She survives of the home.
He served in the United States Army Air Force, was a veteran of World War II, where he was in the 602nd Training Group. He was also an active member of Frederick Boulevard Baptist Church, a past member of IBEW International, and Brotherhood of Electrical Workers.
He was preceded in death by his parents; step-grandson, Chip Tootle; and two sisters.
Survivors: wife; son, Terry Lewis (Ann); granddaughters, Ashley Smith (Jason), Janelle Nickelson (Steve); one step-grandson, Matt Tootle (Jennifer); six great grandchildren, Bradley and Tyler Nickelson, Emma Tootle Maher, Will Tootle, Adeline and Selah Smith; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Graveside Services and Interment: Memorial Park Cemetery.
Services: 10:30 A.M. Wednesday, Frederick Boulevard Baptist Church, where friends may call after 5:00 P.M. Tuesday, Meierhoffer Funeral Home & Crematory. The family will receive friends 11:30 to 1:30 P.M. Wednesday, Frederick Boulevard Baptist Church. Flowers are appreciated and for those wishing to make a contribution, the family requests they be made to Frederick Boulevard Baptist Church.
