(WESTON, Mo.) As we continue to dig into the earth for more fossil fuels to power our lights and warm our homes, more are looking to the sky for answers.

That includes the staff at The Bank of Weston, which is installing solar panels.

Eighty panels are going up on the roof of the bank at a cost of just under $80,000. But with rebates, tax credits and depreciation costs, the bank says they'll pay off the investment in just three years.

"We're in the business of making investments," says bank President and CEO Ted Wilson. "We review investments on a daily basis. So, anyplace we can put money into a project that has a payback for us. In this case, it's a rapid payback, and it's a fairly long term payback."

Energy industry reps say technological advances have brought the costs of switching to solar way down. Combined with government rebates and tax credits, they say the future of solar energy you can take to the bank.
