(LAWRENCE, Kan.) One week ago, No. 14 Kansas and No. 10 Kansas State were in very different places than where they were tonight.
The Jayhawks entered the second round of this season's installment of the Sunflower Showdown on their first three-game losing streak since 2005. Meanwhile, the Wildcats were on a four-game win streak and now in first place in the Big 12.
But Kansas avoided another crisis at home, thumping the Wildcats to the tune of an 83-62 win. The Jayhawks (20-4, 8-3) now move back on top of Kansas State (19-5, 8-3) for the conference lead.
Ben McLemore turned in a stellar performance on his birthday, scoring 30 points to go with seven rebounds and three steals.
Jeff Withey registered a double double with 17 points and 10 rebounds. He also had five blocks, becoming the program's all-time leader with 263 in the process.
Rodney McGruder turned in 20 points for the Wildcats, while Angel Rodriguez added 17.
