(LIVINGSTON COUNTY, Mo.) Authorities in northwest Missouri are warning parents about a possible scam targeting kids on Facebook.
The Livingston County Sheriff's office said numerous young people in the county have been contacted on the social media site from a profile claiming to be a 35-year-old with the last name of "Crawford."

Sheriff Steve Cox said the profile has connected with numerous kids in the area, some as young as the third grade, by sending a friend request on Facebook.
Several of the kids have also been notified by the profile to call a specific phone number. The numbers trace back to New York and Chicago, but offer only a busy signal.
Medical personnel went back to
school today to learn the ABC's of Hepatitis.
Sheriff Cox suspects that someone is trying to collect personal information or spread a computer virus. He said there is no evidence at this time that anything illegal has taken place, but he wants to warn parents to keep an eye out for any suspicious activity online.
The sheriff's office has notified parents who's children may have "friended" the profile. Investigators are working with the Livingston County Prosecutor's office to file an official report.
