Mary Ann Gibson, 54, of St. Joseph, went home to be with her Lord on Sunday February 3, 2013, after a courageous battle with cancer. Mary Ann was born in St. Joseph January 26, 1959 to William and Grace Endsley. She was a member of Grace Evangelical and graduated from Benton High School and Missouri Western State College with an associates degree in legal studies. She spent most of her career with St. Joseph Light and Power and later worked for Cryovac Industries.
Mary Ann married James Gibson August 14, 2008 in St. Joseph. He survives of the home. She is also survived by her mother, Grace Endsley, her son, daughter and spouses, Justin and Jane McCarthy and Sarah and Jay Duin, St. Joseph; brothers and spouses, Jack and Elaine Endsley, Charlie and Becky Endsley, sister, Carol Endsley, three grandchildren, Porter, Nolan, and Hank, and two step grandchildren, Toby and Tanner.
She is preceded in death by her father, and one brother, Gary Hoyt.
Services will be 10:30 a.m. Thursday at the Clark-Sampson Funeral Home with interment in Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be after 2:00 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home where the family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m.
The family suggests in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions to the American Lung Association.
