(ST. JOSEPH, Mo.) A familiar face is moving from the mound to the dugout for the 2013 Mustangs season.

Manager Matt Johnson announced Monday former pitcher Kyle Jackson will be the team's hitting coach this upcoming year.

Jackson played a key role in the Mustang's back-to-back MINK League Championships. In the past three seasons in St. Joseph, he's compiled a 9-5 record with a 3.50 ERA while striking out 67 batters of 109 innings.

He'll have plenty of local talent to coach this summer, as the pitching staff includes Tyler Arthur (Central), Lucas Powers (Benton), Payton Scarborough (Maryville), Brett Smith (Savannah), and Keegan Smith (Savannah).
