Verlin Jones, 61, Saint Joseph, Missouri, passed away Tuesday, January 29, 2013 at a local hospital.
Verlin was born October 23, 1951, in Hollister, Missouri to Luther and Verna (Hunt) Jones. He graduated from Hollister High School and was a self employed logger. Verlin moved to Saint Joseph 26 years ago.
Verlin enjoyed gardening, growing and picking blackberries. His hobbies included horse trading, hunting, fishing and gambling.
Survivors include, partner, Linda Paxton, St. Joseph; sons, Rick Jones, Conroe, Texas, Jackson (Jeannie) Jones, Savannah, Missouri; daughter, Jennifer (David) Steele, Helena, Missouri; five grandchildren, Patrick, Keira, Maesyn, Rylee and Dawson.
Services 11 am, Saturday at Heaton-Bowman-Smith Savannah Chapel. Visitation 6 to 8 pm, Friday at our Chapel. Interment Primitive Baptist Hackberry Ridge Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the funeral home to help defray funeral expenses.
