Albert Lee Jones 90, of Agency, Missouri, passed away Wednesday, January 30, 2013 in Saint Joseph, MO.
He was born August 20, 1922 in Agency, MO, son of Nola and Robert Jones. He attended the Agency high school. He married Velma "Sally" Noland on 9/23/1947 Wathena, KS and they share 65 years of marriage together. He served in the Army and is a veteran of the World War II. He was the owner operator of Al's Platte River Station in Agency for 30 years & worked at Swift and company for 24 years. He enjoyed fishing, mushroom hunting, gardening and spending time eating ice cream with his grandkids.
He was a member of the American Legion Post # 359 and a Christian. Albert was preceded in death by his parents, 4 brothers, Don, Glenn , Harvey, and Clarence Jones, and a sister, Marjorie Miller. Survivors include wife Velma "Sally" Jones of the home, a son - Dan Jones and wife Sherry of Rushville, MO; three grandaughters; Tracy, Laura & Tasha and three great grandchildren; Bryce, Kori & Jade.
Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 pm, on Saturday, February 2, 2013 at Rupp Funeral Home, with Rev. James Barnett officiating, The family will receive friends from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM on Friday at the Rupp Funeral Home. The Interment will be at the Agency Cemetery.
