(ST. JOSEPH, Mo.) Layer up and keep extra layers handy; it's going to be COLD for the next 48 hours in the Midland Empire!

After between 2-4" of snow in the region from the most recent winter storm, temperatures all around are cold and will continue to get colder through the day on Thursday.

Friday morning will perhaps be one of the coldest of the entire season, with a real possibility of some areas seeing temperatures at zero or even below zero!

Thankfully, it seems our highs will rebound to something a little warmer than average by the weekend, as a high pressure slides through and switches our wind direction, ushering in warmer air.

Low 40s prevail for the weekend, with temperatures expected to be even warmer to start next week.
