Russell was born April 5, 1944 to the late Everett V. Owens and Helen Geraldine Rowlett.
Russell graduated from Graham High School and served in the US Air Force. Russell spent his working career as a mechanic. He married Linda Hoague on February 5, 1979 in Oregon , MO.
Preceding him in death were his parents, a sister Paula Wilcoxson, an infant brother LaVerne Owens and a step-daughter Debbie Turner.
Russell is survived by his wife Linda of the home, 8 children, Joel (Vonda) Fredette, Virginia, Tina Fredette, Champlain, NY., Christopher Owens, Mound City, MO., Donald (Mary) Bohannon, Alburg, VT., Sharri (Bret) Wallace, Maryville, MO., Ray (Tobie) Bohannon, Barnard, MO., and Nathan Owens, Graham MO. Two brothers, Curtis Owens, Lake St. Louis, MO, Steven (Connie) Owens, Alba TX., and a sister Sherri (Lester) Barrett, Graham MO. Russell had 11 grandchildren, 6 great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
Russell will be cremated. The family is hosting a memorial service at the New Community Building in Graham on Thursday January 31 at 11 am to celebrate and honor Russell's life. There will be a luncheon after the service. The family has requested memorials to the American Cancer Society or SSM Hospice of St. Francis in lieu of flowers.
